Managing the complete life cycle of a High Level Architecture (HLA) federation ¡ª from creation through resignation ¡ª is easy and intuitive with FedDirector. FedDirector, part of the integrated HLA Lab Works product suite, is designed to take advantage of Federation Object Model (FOM) and Management Object Model (MOM) information to provide a comprehensive view of the federation execution. FedDirector reads the FOM during run-time and allows you to declare interest in object classes. This flexibility makes FedDirector easily adaptable to any federation. FedDirector provides extensive views for managing every federate¡¯s declarations, objects, ownership, and time settings, making it the most complete solution for managing your federation.
Intuitive interface and time-saving features increase productivity
- Simple dialog views for each HLA service group and MOM class
- Intuitive interface to Management Object Model (MOM) information
- Can generate and receive FOM interactions and can subscribe to any FOM attribute
- Access federation management services from a dialog window or a toolbar icon
- Uses both the MOM and the FOM to collect information to effectively manage a federation
- Supports all HLA time management schemes
Manages your federation from creation through resignation
FedDirector assists you with everything from simplistic tasks (creating the federation execution and listing the joined federates) to viewing detailed federation and object information and pacing the federation¡¯s time advancement. Extensive views corresponding to each HLA service category provide detailed information about the federation, the federates, and the object each federate is responsible for ¡ª so it¡¯s easy to access information at any point in the workflow. Each view takes full advantage of the HLA federation management services, the FOM object, and FOM interaction classes to provide management to the HLA federated exercise.
Coordinates initializing the federation execution
FedDirector allows you to create federation-specific synchronization interactions to ensure all federates are notified of all attribute updates or object discoveries. After defining these interactions, you can use FedDirector to step the federation through the initialization sequence designed specifically for the federation.
Extensive dialog box views for managing your federation
FedDirector provides several dialog boxes for managing all aspects of your federation.
Federation Management: Manage all aspects of a federation, from creating/destroying, joining/resigning, saving/restoring, and synchronizing.
Declaration Management: Defines the publish/subscribe interests for classes and interactions, as well as update/reflect values for attributes.
Object Management: Displays a detailed list of all object instances, attribute values, and information about the owning federate.
Ownership Management: Displays object instances in the federation and displays information about which federates own attributes of the objects or have the privilege to delete the objects.
Time Management: Displays MOM federate attributes related to the RTI Time management services and provides an interface for remotely adjusting the timing parameters of other federates.
In addition, other views are available for sending and receiving interactions, reviewing log data and alert messages, and displaying execution statistics in graphs and charts.
